Oddisee, labeled as a Producer/MC, but really a “Hip Hop Artist”, dropped one of my favorite albums of this year, hey, maybe even of this decade. Having known his music for quite some years, I was excited to see he was touring Europe with a band for his debut album as a solo artist, “People Hear What They See”.
The show was incredible and the live band definitely adds to the soulful hip hop melodies, guiding Oddisee’s lyrics on stage. I was also very impressed with Oddisee explaining the thought behind this album. He tells us about the process towards becoming an independent artist, changing the audience’s perception from producer to MC (artist) and how he is trying to bring integrity back into Hip Hop, with the way he puts out his music, his art.
